Proactive System Support

A growing local financial services firm with about 10 employees had a small Windows NT network.  One of the employees handled day-to-day system administration as time permitted.  When a problem arose, a DBM Associates engineer or technician was dispatched to handle it.  In this reactive-mode approach, IT expenses were unpredictable and varied widely from month to month.

The desire to upgrade to a newer release of their line of business application precipitated the need to upgrade to a Windows Server 2003 environment.  Along with our proposal for the new server we included a recommendation that they contract for Proactive System Support after the upgrade was completed.  PSS meant that DBM was responsible for keeping their IT infrastructure (server and network) secure and running smoothly.  They agreed to an initial 3-month contract and have renewed several times since.

Now their IT services expenses are predictable, making cash-flow planning easier.  They also have peace of mind that their infrastructure is being monitored and maintained regularly.  Windows Server 2003 and DBM's expertise have allowed them to expand to a second location, support home office work, and, in general, get the most from their investment.
